ULUVUS - Sao Sai Ta Jing Jai

Wow, it's been a while since ULUVUS released a new music video. For those who have not yet heard about this group here is a quick summary of them. ULUVUS, or you love us, is a farang rock band in Laos. They are from Australia and are signed with Indee Records. Some of their hits include, "Phou Sao Bor Son Jai Hao", "Pichalana", and "Huk Gun Leo". 


Now they are back with a new music video for their latest single, "Sao Sai Ta Jing Jai". At first I wasn't very fond of this song. I listened to it over and over mainly because I couldn't make out what he was saying. It wasn't until I read the lyrics captioned onto the music video that I understood what the song was about. It's actually a very sweet song but with a sad ending to it. This song is a bit more on the serious side than their other songs which were mostly up-tempo music.


The song is about a guy who falls in love with a girl who works at a pho restaurant. At first he was not brave enough to ask her out but he returned the following day and was able to make a date. Every thing seemed so sweet with the two but then days after the guy found out some bad news. In the music video you see a plane take off. That should be a hint of what he was referring to about "bad news". 


I have mixed feelings about this. The music video was alright. The story was nice and all but the production could have been better. Lately, I've been noticing the music videos released by Indee Records are set to a "square" resolution. Usually I see music videos in a rectangle shape. It made the video look home made and a bit cheap. Other than that I think they did a good job. The guys looked great singing out in the nature of Laos. Looked like a lot of fun!
